Cutting condensation to keep your home healthy
As part of our continuing efforts to tackle damp, mould and condensation, we’re supporting our customers to report signs of mould in their homes and helping them to maintain a healthy home through our Cutting Condensation campaign.
We have worked with the Energy Saving Trust to offer you some easy tips to help you cut condensation, which we have been posting on the Homes Plus Facebook page.
You can also find these handy tips and advice on how to keep your home warm on the Homes Plus website, in our new Damp, mould and condensation leaflet or in our new Cutting condensation ‘how to’ video.
“We are running a ‘Cutting Condensation’ campaign to help people keep their homes healthy,” said executive director of property, Andrew Kenny. “We are sharing useful tips and providing a central source of information on the different types of damp, so that you can identify any potential concerns and let us know if there is a problem.”
Condensation can happen in any home and is caused by everyday activities such as cooking, boiling a kettle or taking a shower. Small amounts of condensation - like the steam from a shower condensing on a bathroom mirror – are not usually a problem, but there are some simple things that can be done, to help reduce it.
“We are also reminding people that if you follow our tips and condensation is still a problem, or you spot signs of damp or mould in your home, you must contact us. It could affect your health if not treated,” urged Andrew Kenny.
Report damp or mould in your home by calling us on 0800 048 8955, by sending us a private message on Facebook or by completing our online form. We’ll arrange an inspection to identify the cause of any issues that you are experiencing and work together to make sure these are resolved as quickly as possible. See it, report it.
